Leaks Page 2

Another way to narrow it down is to use the block method.  This is kind of crude, but it can work wonders.  Put a new brush into your map and stretch it to cover a big area. Then compile the map.  If the leak is still there, move the brush.  Do this until you have covered up the leak.

Once you have that, start reducing the size of the brush one side at a time and moving it around until it leaks again.  LEAKTEST it after every alteration to your big brush.  Your leak should be next to the edge that was moved last.

STEP 1 - NO LEAK
STEP 2 - NO LEAK
Step 3 - LEAKED
Step 4 - LEAKED

The only problem with this technique is multiple leaks. If there is a leak on the other side of your map too, the brush wouldn't cover it.  If your level is small enough, you can cover most of it with the brush just remember not to cover your player start :)

The best way is to use both techniques if you have to.  That should keep you leak free.
